Wow..today’s new thing was packing up myself to move out. Pretty exciting and completely exhausting. I’ve done the whole “move back to college” thing a billion times (well maybe like six), but this was the real deal. I am now the proud owner of my own kitchen supplies and a lease agreement lol.

Tomorrow’s new thing will be actually moving into the place. Yay for a year of new things =)

YAY! One full week of my challenge completed! It’s been pretty fun so far. I have a list of things I can’t wait to tackle once the craziness of moving is over. =)

On the menu today: Italian Almond Biscotti

They came out great! (And yes, I used my new apron lol.)

And as a bonus…the house smells awesome! =)

My sister Sarah and I found out something tonight that most people don’t know: Bingo is an extremely competitive sport. And yes, I said sport lol. We went tonight to experience for the first time what we thought was going to be a small, short little game, and instead we discovered an unknown world of diehards.

Buying the cards was hilarious because even though I told the lady I had never really played, she still spoke in Bingo-talk lol. Needless to say I didn’t yet know about the “Casino Round” or what the “First Share of Wealth” even was.

Our next funny crisis came when we realized we had come unprepared! It is not an exaggeration to say that every single person had a dabber except us lol. (That’s the official name…I asked lol ) It is also not an exaggeration to say that most of these diehards each owned at least five different colors, and one lady had at least twelve her Bingo tool kit! Because we were so obviously out of place, in both age and skill, I thought perhaps someone might let us borrow a dabber. These Bingo-ers were not interested in talking much. In fact Sarah and I were the only ones talking/laughing most of the time. BUT…I can now tell you I am the official owner of a hot pink dabber.

We had an absolute blast! After we got the hang of the Bingo-lingo, we both got into the game. Especially the last round, where I was TWO spaces away from $1000!! GAHH!!!

( Fyi…the lady directly to my left was making tie-dye guitar pick earrings the entire time haha. Also a few rows away is the lady who used a clapper when she yelled Bingo lol.)

I didn’t realize the excitement my little idea would cause haha! I’ve gotten a bunch of texts either giving me more suggestions or asking what I was going to do today lol. I love it! I concluded that I think everyone secretly wants to do it..so…just do it! And clue everyone else in so we can be just as excited as you =)

Ok, today I actually had a whole other new thing that I was going to try, but I stumbled upon this one instead. While out with my mom, we drove past a Salvation Army and I asked her to stop. The only time I have ever been in one is to pick out a costume and that’s also where my sweater was from for GC’s ugly sweater Christmas party lol. Today, however, with no ulterior mission, I wanted to look through and see what they actually had. I am not a label snob, but I do usually buy recognizable, well made clothes. So…this was a new thing for me- sorting through racks of clothes with no tags, a musty smell, and nameless previous owners. BUT…I found a treasure!

A gorgeous summer dress! Very well made, in perfect condition! Even my mom was impressed with my find lol.

Love, love, love the pattern! No tags at all, so I have no idea who makes it.

Today I had lunch at Peter’s Cornucopia for the first time! I’ve had a few of their smoothies before, but never a meal. The menu always looked so interesting to me. So..I had the Honey Mustard Wrap- chicken, lettuce, tomato, cheddar, honey mustard…o and PINEAPPLE! haha…It was fantastic! And I also loved how I could choose a salad or fruit for my side. I chose fruit and got a little cup of red grapes (my favorite) and a piece of melon. I highly recommend it…and the rest of the store. Great place =)

One New Thing Every Day

I had an idea yesterday. What if…for one year…I did something new every day? I’m not looking to become an expert on every single thing I experience, but how fun would it be to continuously try new things. Being a senior in college this is the perfect year for me to take on such an endeavor. Why would I do this? Well, I am a part-time risk taker haha. I enjoy doing things spontaneously, but I love my routines and lists and schedules. Being so structured means that I do a lot of the same things all the time. (Likkkeee…ordering the same grande non-fat vanilla latte at Starbucks or running the same road route over and over. ) There are so many other things out there that I do not even know about yet. Who knows, I may just find my new favorite food or discover something I have serious talent for! Maybe haha. So..anyways.. for one year I am going to do one new thing a day. Most of the time, they probably will not be earth-shaking experiences, but they will be new to me..and that’s perfect =)

P.S. Does anyone want to join me? Or does any one have ideas for me to add to my list? I already have things like..try zumba just once…get a professional massage…go fishing..try sushi lol.help me out =)
